The Cove
The Cove Cottage School, on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, is a Christian-based educational group inspired by the Charlotte Mason philosophy. Our cottage school is a hybrid-homeschool community, fostering friendship and creating structure, taking the pressure off of parents to do it alone.
A ‘cove’ is a small, sheltered bay or inlet on the coast. The water in a cove is calmer than the open ocean. This is how we think of our school: as a small, sheltered, calm and friendly place for early learning.
Intended for family-style learning, CCS is crafted for Kindergarten through 3rd grade and operates two days a week, Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30am-12:30pm, with a monthly extra day dedicated to nature hikes and field trips. As of now, this is not a drop-off program (younger siblings are welcome to attend under parental supervision).
CCS desires to create a close and friendly community. We believe in collaboration between tutors, students, and parents, working together to enrich the whole child. Inspired by Charlotte Mason’s philosophy on holistic education, our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to explore the what, how, and why.
